Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Tagalog With Mitch, we understand that unexpected situations can arise. This policy is designed to be fair to both students and tutors while protecting scheduled lesson time and maintaining a reliable learning environment.
By booking a lesson, purchasing a package, or subscribing to our services, you agree to the following Refund & Cancellation Policy.
1. Trial Lessons
Trial lessons are paid sessions and are charged according to the selected lesson duration and the price displayed at the time of booking.
Trial lessons are intended to evaluate learning goals, assess current language ability, and determine whether our teaching approach is a good fit for the student.
Completed trial lessons are non refundable.
2. Student Rescheduling Policy
Students may reschedule a lesson without penalty if the request is submitted at least 15 hours before the scheduled lesson start time.
Rescheduling requests submitted less than 15 hours before the scheduled lesson start time are considered late rescheduling requests. The lesson credit will be deducted and no refund will be issued.
Rescheduling remains subject to tutor availability.
3. Student Cancellation Policy
Students may cancel a lesson without penalty if the cancellation request is submitted at least 15 hours before the scheduled lesson start time.
Lessons canceled less than 15 hours before the scheduled lesson start time are considered late cancellations. The lesson credit will be deducted and no refund will be issued.
Repeated late cancellations may result in restrictions on future bookings at our discretion.
4. No Show Policy
A student is considered a no show if they fail to attend a scheduled lesson without prior notice.
No show lessons are considered completed lessons. The lesson credit will be deducted and no refund, replacement lesson, or makeup lesson will be provided.
5. Late Arrival Policy
Tutors will wait for up to 20 minutes after the scheduled lesson start time.
If a student has not joined within 20 minutes, the tutor may leave the session. The lesson will be considered completed, the lesson credit will be deducted, and no refund, replacement lesson, or makeup lesson will be provided.
Students who arrive late may attend the remainder of the lesson, however the lesson will still end at the originally scheduled time.
Additional time cannot be guaranteed due to other scheduled lessons and commitments.
6. Tutor Cancellations
If a tutor must cancel or reschedule a lesson due to illness, emergencies, technical issues, or unforeseen circumstances, students will be offered one of the following:
- A replacement lesson
- A suitable alternative lesson time
- A lesson credit where appropriate
We strive to provide as much notice as possible in the event of tutor cancellations.
7. Lesson Packages
Package lessons are intended for the individual student who purchased them and may not be transferred, shared, resold, or exchanged.
Unused lessons may expire according to the package terms displayed at the time of purchase.
Expired lessons are not eligible for refunds unless otherwise required by law.
8. Subscription Plans
Subscription plans automatically renew according to the selected billing cycle unless canceled before the next billing date.
Students are responsible for managing their subscriptions and cancellation requests.
Refunds will not be issued for renewal charges that occur because a subscription was not canceled prior to the next billing cycle.
Unused subscription benefits, lesson credits, or lessons do not automatically carry over unless explicitly stated in the subscription plan.
9. Refund Eligibility
Refunds may only be considered under exceptional circumstances, including:
- Duplicate payments
- Technical billing errors
- Charges made in error
- Situations where services could not reasonably be provided
All refund requests are reviewed individually and approval is at the sole discretion of Tagalog With Mitch.
Approval of one refund request does not guarantee approval of future requests.
10. Non Refundable Services
The following are non refundable:
- Completed lessons
- Completed trial lessons
- No show lessons
- Late cancellation lessons
- Late rescheduling requests
- Missed lessons due to student scheduling conflicts
- Expired lesson credits
- Downloadable learning materials
- Educational resources already delivered
11. Technical Issues
Students are responsible for ensuring they have a stable internet connection, functioning audio equipment, and access to the required lesson platform.
Technical difficulties on the student’s side do not qualify for refunds, lesson credits, replacement lessons, or makeup lessons.
If significant technical issues occur on the tutor’s side and prevent the lesson from taking place, an alternative lesson arrangement will be provided.
12. Exceptional Circumstances
Serious emergencies, medical situations, family emergencies, or other extraordinary circumstances may be reviewed on a case by case basis at the sole discretion of Tagalog With Mitch.
Any exception granted is a goodwill accommodation and does not create an ongoing obligation to provide similar exceptions in the future.
13. Policy Updates
We reserve the right to modify, update, or replace this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time.
Updated versions will be published on this page and become effective immediately upon publication.
